Louisiana Perinatal Mental Health Task Force Policy Brief & Maternal Mental Health Policies & Task Forces in U.S.

A report prepared by the Institute of Women & Ethnic Studies & the Louisiana Department of Health. During the 2021 Legislative Session, Representative Royce Duplessis introduced HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 105 (HCR 105) to establish a task force dedicated to the education, treatment, and overall improvement of maternal mental healthcare within the state. The Louisiana Department of Health, Bureau of Family Health partnered with the Institute of Women and Ethnic Studies (IWES) to lead the task force, conduct the research, and develop the recommendations outlined in this document.
